Open Mic Performers: "Uncle" Frank Collins, John & Rebecca Martucci, Phil Miller, Roye Donald, Barbara Mahon
Although one could wish for a larger audience to appreciate our feature, Bob Stanhope, he gave us his usual polished best, with a variety of originals and covers. He can bridge the gap from the blues, "Sure Could Use a Little Good News," to the upbeat, "Nice Guys Finish Last," keeping us chuckling with, "The Evil of Two Lessers" (political- get it?), giggling along on "Cow Patty" (a cowboy song) and nodding in affirmation with "Please Be Patient- God's Not Finished With Me Yet." Bob's humor surfaces in "Song for Guys," a love song- with apologies to women who won't get it (I'm not giving it away, but think duct tape!). I can't talk much about technical ability, but he switched from his 12- string to the 6-string so effortlessly that it makes you think anyone could play one.
With his busy upcoming schedule, we hope that Bob will visit us again, sooner than later!
