POUGHKEEPSIE CHAPTER YOUTH SHOW CASE FINALE!!

The Poughkeepsie Chapter will complete its experimental youth concert series in May.

Our youth showcase on May 19^th will be Ryan Shields, a student from the Arlington Middle School in Poughkeepsie.   Ryan was highly recommended as a youth feature by our own Lu Anne Thompson.  He sings and plays guitar and his music has influences from such luminaries as Bob Dylan and the Dave Matthews Band.  Our featured performer for the 2^nd set following the youth showcase will be Linda Breithaupt and friends which will feature her incredibly strong and true voice.

This would be an appropriate time to thank all those who contributed to making the Talented Youth Series a successful undertaking.

 First of all thanks to all the talented youth who participated and worked so hard to prepare for their performances …  Samantha Chestney, Jesse Hays, Holly Peters, Kari Spieler, Raspberry Hill Fiddlers and the Boysenberry Hill Fiddlers, Jeramie Hildenbrand, A New Theory, Sarah Wise and Ryan Shields.  Also, thanks to the featured performers….. Jane March, Denise Jordan Finley, Holland, Thompson & Tooch, Hamburger Brothers, Phil Miller, Git Fiddle, Raggedy Crew and Linda Breithaupt.   Second of all, thanks to the volunteers who helped run the events …. Carol Becker, Amy Strom, and Linda Breithaupt.  And last, special thanks to Linda Bresnahan who came to our rescue as piano accompanist for Jesse Hays and to all those who “voted” to support our youth features by attending, especially Ed Connelly, Carolyn Plage and Walt and Loraine Klara who came to nearly all the concerts.

Please remember the evening starts at 7:30 and there is no Open Mic.  Open mic is targeted to start again in September. Admission to the Poughkeepsie concerts is $7, $5 folk guild members, and a family cap of $20.
