Newsletter segments:

Kingston chapter news, Patterson chapter news, Poughkeepsie chapter news, and other articles.

March Open Mic:

Steve Otlowski, Blair Shepard, Lauren Rose, Bob Wright, Joe Murray, Bruce Blair, Linda Breithaupt, Cheryl A. Rice, Vince Sauter, Carol Hotte & Chris DePalma

Mike & Emmy Clarke's homespun feature included an entertaining mix of traditional, show and original tunes. Mike's love of modern folk and pop was evident in such choices as "Cotton Fields" and "Nowhere Man". Always sweetly backed on vocals by Emmy, this cool duo looked ahead to warmer days on the eve of yet another 'storm of the century' with "By the Sea" (Clarke) and "Summertime" (Gershwin). A delightful evening! Bravo! -reported by Cheryl A. Rice

April Open Mic:

Kimberly, Vince Sauter, Phil Miller, Bruce Blair, Michael "Moose" DeMoch, Bonnie Richardson, Hamburger Bros., Steve & Terri Massardo, Finley & Murray, Blair Shepard, Carol Hotte & Chris DePalma, Lyn Burnstine, Lisa Dudley, Steven Murray

Linda Breithaupt's feature was a family affair, joined as she was onstage by brother Ward (a standout on "Don't Go Down by the Quarry"), Mom Kate, close buddy Arlene Dawber and various Hamburger Bros. Her opening number, "Give Yourself to Love", set the tone, one of professionalism mixed with high spirits and a pure love of the music. The 'Moon Medley' was a particular crowdpleaser, as was any tune that gave free rein to Linda's rich alto. The stage wasn't big enough for this crew, and the room barely. Encore! We need more Breithaupts, more often!!

-Cheryl A. Rice
