Dear Friends,
Membership in the Hudson Valley Folk Guild is effective from January to January each calendar year. Hence, our yearly membership drive will once again run from December through March 31st 2010. This is the time of the year where we hope to attract new members while encouraging current members to renew their membership for another year.
The membership campaign is vitally important because membership donations are used to cover operating expenses such as liability insurance, equipment maintenance, publicity and seed money for new events. In keeping with our tradition, membership solicitation is deliberately a low key, grass roots approach. People join the Guild simply because they want to support a community organization that promotes live traditional and contemporary music and the growth of its performing members. So, if you feel what we do is worthwhile, please send in your membership donation and please participate in our events as a performer, listener or better yet, as a volunteer at our coffeehouses, concerts and chapter organization!
In 2009, the Folk Guild set a new record with 523 members and had a very successful 30th Anniversary celebration! With your help we can do even better in 2010! We will continue to send out periodic email reminders for upcoming events to those of you who have signed up to receive them.
We appreciate your support of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild as it continues to grow and accomplish its (our) goals! All membership contributions are tax deductible.
