A folk music icon, Caroline is a founder (with her late husband Sandy) and owner of Folk legacy Records. She and Sandy were chosen to be Connecticut's official State Troubadours in 1993.
The Boston Globe has described Lui as "one of New England's first and brightest stars." Michael Devlin of Music Matters Review wrote: "... there are relatively few artists who are bringing a traditional sensibility to modern songwriting, and in the process creating new traditional music.
